Keep your deviations under control
For FIDIC contracts the Engineer role can be preformed by the Project Manager of a Project Management Company or it could be the Project Manager of the Employer (Company who develops and owns the project). Download the flow-chart (Power Point)
Technical deviations are deviations from drawings, specifications and other technical requirements.
Possible deviations should be proposed and agreed before they are implemented. In case they impact on cost and/or schedule then the change procedure shall be followed first.
Sometimes technical deviations are requested for work already performed incorrectly. Such situation can be either be corrected under redo obligation or can be accepted (if possible).
